Find out the browser, screen size and settings required to use NZTopoOnline.

Web browser support

NZTopoOnline is designed to run with Microsoft Internet Explorer. We recommend that you use version 5.0, 5.5, 6.0 or higher.

Other browsers are not supported, but the site will function with Netscape Communicator 6.2.

Pop-ups

You will need to enable your browser for pop-ups to access all the functionality on this site.

Internet connection

The type of Internet connection you choose will affect the performance (speed) that you experience for activities such as downloading image files and printing.

As this site displays large amounts of graphic data, we recommend that you use a broadband connection. However, a dial-up modem will provide adequate performance, but modem speeds of 28.8K (V.32) or faster are recommended. It is worth considering faster Internet access options if available.

Screen size

In order to provide you with a more accurate map, NZTopoOnline needs to know the size of your screen resolution. You will be prompted to select your screen size before accessing a map view.
