NOTES

  1. NZTopoOnline must not be used for aircraft navigation. It does not show all aerial wires, cableways and obstructions that could be hazardous to aircraft. Official Aeronautical charts are available from Airways Corporation.

  2. Closed tracks or routes in NZTopoOnline (refer to map legend) are those defined as being no longer maintained or passable and should not be used by recreationalists. The Department of Conservation or the council should be contacted for the latest information on tracks or huts. LINZ 1:50,000 Topographic maps are available from DOC Visitor Centres and book retailers nationally.

  3. The representation of a road or track in NZTopoOnline, or it's existence on the ground, does not guarantee a public right of way. Please respect private property.

  4. Printing issue - Web browser times out before maps are created. If the “Map created” window does not appear after 5 minutes - This is due to your web browser timing out. Please navigate to: http://www.nztopoonline.linz.govt.nz/print and look for a file that was created within a few minutes of you clicking print and in the following format: projection_Print_paper size_... e.g. NZTM_Print_A1_...
