New Zealand mainland only (NZTM2000)

Here the NZTopo data is based on the New Zealand Transverse Mercator 2000 (NZTM2000) projection. The Topo50 map series using NZTM2000 at 1:50,000 scale, will be launched in September 2009.

Full functionality - select which layers of map information you want to display (eg geographic names, contours, roads). Shapefiles for user selected areas can also be downloaded.

Faster viewing option - all map information is combined into one layer and tiled. Having only one layer means the viewer loads faster, but it is not possible to separate and display individual layers of information.

Here the NZTopo data is unprojected, based on New Zealand Geodetic Datum 2000 (NZGD2000).

Chatham Islands (CITM2000)

Here the NZTopo data is based on the Chatham Islands Transverse Mercator 2000 (CITM2000) projection.
